Hanging on.. నిరీక్షించడమా!

Hanging on, Run out of something.. ఈ రెండింటినీ పరిశీలిస్తే.. వేలాడటం, పరుగెత్తడం వంటి అర్థాలు కనిపిస్తున్నాయి కదా! నిజానికి మొదటిదాన్ని నిరీక్షించడానికి ఉపయోగిస్తే, రెండో దాన్ని ఏదీ లేకపోవడాన్ని  తెలియజేయడానికి వాడతాం. వీటిని సంభాషణల్లో ఎలా ఉపయోగించవచ్చో తెలుసుకుందాం.
Mohan: What are you waiting for, Jagannath? (దేని కోసం నిరీక్షిస్తున్నావు, జగన్నాథ్‌?)
Jagannath: The teacher told me to wait for some time. That is why I am here (టీచర్‌ నన్ను ఇక్కడ కాసేపు నిరీక్షించమని చెప్పారు. అందుకే నేనిక్కడున్నా).
Mohan: All right. The teacher told you to wait. How long are you going to wait for him? (సరేలే. టీచర్‌ నిన్ను ఇక్కడ నిరీక్షించమని చెప్పారు. ఎంతసేపు నిరీక్షిస్తూ ఉందామనుకుంటున్నావు?)
Jagannath: I am hanging on here till the teacher comes. He told me to be here and not to leave the place (మా టీచర్‌ వచ్చేదాకా నేనిక్కడే నిరీక్షిస్తుంటాను. ఆయన నాతో ఇక్కడే ఉండమనీ, ఎక్కడికీ వెళ్లొద్దనీ చెప్పారు).
Mohan: I have run out of money. Can you help me with some money please? (నా దగ్గర డబ్బు అయిపోయింది. నాకు కొంచెం డబ్బులు అప్పు ఇస్తావా?)
Jagannath: Sorry. You know this is the end of the month. I haven’t enough money left to lend you any money (క్షమించు. నీకు తెలుసు కదా, ఇది నెలాఖరు అని. నా దగ్గర నీకివ్వడానికి చాలినంత డబ్బు లేదు).
Mohan: could you give me the money on the 1st of next month? I am in bad need of money. My lenders are troubling me to pay off their debts (అయితే వచ్చే నెలలో ఇవ్వగలవా? నాకు డబ్బు అవసరం చాలా ఉంది. నాకు అప్పు ఇచ్చిన వాళ్లు డబ్బులు తిరిగి ఇవ్వమని తొందరపెడుతున్నారు).
Jagannath: Just don’t worry. Wait till the first and I can spare you some money (ఏం బాధపడకు. ఒకటో తేదీవరకు ఆగు. కొంచెం డబ్బులు సర్దుతాను).
Mohan: Thanks a lot (ధన్యవాదాలు).

Look at the following phrasal verbs

1) Hanging on = Wait for a short time (కొంతసేపు నిరీక్షించడం)
Kumar: I do not know what he is waiting for. It puzzles me (అతను దేనికోసం వేచి చూస్తున్నాడో తెలీటం లేదు. నాకు ఏమాత్రం అర్థం కావడం లేదు).
Koundinya: He is hanging on here till his friend comes. Once he comes, they will together go to a movie (అతను తన స్నేహితుడి కోసం నిరీక్షిస్తున్నాడు. అతను వచ్చిన తరువాత వాళ్లిద్దరూ కలిసి సినిమాకు వెళతారు).
2) Run out of money = Have none left of something. Here in this context Run out of money = No money left (ఏదీ లేకపోవడం. ఈ సందర్భంలో డబ్బు లేకపోవడం).
Sitaram: I am waiting for my friend here. As soon as he comes we are going to attend the meeting (నా స్నేహితుడి కోసం చూస్తున్నా. అతను వచ్చిన వెంటనే మేము మీటింగ్‌కు వెళ్తాం).
Sankar: How long are you going to wait for him? The meeting will start in a short time, and you will run out of time. You will be late for the meeting  (ఎంతసేపని అతనికోసం నిరీక్షిస్తావు? మీటింగ్‌ ఇంకాసేపట్లో ప్రారంభమవుతుంది, నీకిప్పుడు సమయం దొరకదు. మీటింగ్‌కు ఆలస్యమవుతావు).
