Kamal Kishore (55) was appointed as Assistant Secretary-General and Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Disaster Risk Reduction, United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR). United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres announced this appointment on 28 March 2024. He succeeds Mami Mizutori of Japan.

According to the Brand Finance Insurance 100, 2024 report, Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) has emerged as the strongest insurance brand globally. The brand value of LIC remains stable at Rs.816 billion. It also has a Brand Strength Index score of 88.3 and an associated AAA brand strength rating. 

Morgan Stanley has revised its Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth forecast for India for the financial year 2024-25 (FY25) to 6.8 percent, up from the previous estimate of 6.5 percent. The firm also revised its growth forecast for the ongoing financial year (FY24) to 7.9 percent. 

Nidhu Saxena was appointed as MD & CEO of the Bank of Maharashtra for a period of three years. Currently, he is the Executive Director of the Union Bank of India (UBI). Nidhu succeeds AS Rajeev.
