Lieutenant General JS Sidana assume charge as the 33rd Director General of Electronics and Mechanical Engineers (DG EME) and Senior Colonel Commandant of the Corps of EME. He succeeded Lt Gen Tumul Varma. Prior to this appointment, JS Sidana served as the Commandant of the Military College of EME for two years.

Democratic Republic of Congo's President Felix Tshisekedi appointed Judith Suminwa as the New Prime Minister. She is the country's first-ever female PM. Previously she served as the Planning Minister of the Congo.

Sanjay Nayar took charge as the President of Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM) for 2024-25 on 2 April 2024. He is the Founder-Chairman of Sorin Investment Fund. He replaced Ajay Singh, Co-Founder of low-cost airline SpiceJet.

World Autism Awareness Day is observed every year on April 2 to empower and help autistic people lead a normal life. The United Nations established World Autism Awareness Day in 2007. According to the World Health Organization, one in 100 children has autism.
