India's Jagjit Pavadia was re-elected to the International Narcotics Control Board (INCB) for the term 2025-2030.

India's Jagjit Pavadia was re-elected to the International Narcotics Control Board (INCB) for the term 2025-2030. The election was conducted by the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) on 9 April 2024. Pavadia has been a member of the International Narcotics Control Board since 2015. She served as President of the Board for 2021-2022.


Manoj Panda was appointed as full-time member of the Sixteenth Finance Commission on 8 April 2024. He is former director of the Institute of Economic Growth. The chairman of  the Sixteenth Finance Commission is Arvind Panagariya.


According to the Hurun Global Unicorn Index 2024, India remained the third biggest hub for unicorns worldwide. India had 67 unicorns in 2023, which is one less than 68 such startups in 2022. The US led the list with 703 unicorns, followed by China (340), India (67), UK (53), and Germany (36).


India's Chandrayaan-3 mission team was awarded the prestigious 2024 John L. 'Jack' Swigert Jr. Award for Space Exploration. The award was accepted by India's Consul General in Houston, D C Manjunath, on behalf of the ISRO at the inaugural event of the annual Space Symposium in Colorado.


Simon Harris (37) became Ireland's new Prime Minister on 9 April 2024. He replaced Leo Varadkar. Simon became Ireland's youngest PM.
