Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated a hospital for women and children built with Indian assistance in Bhutan's capital Thimphu on 23 March 2024. This hospital was constructed at Rs.140 crore.  

The Indian Government supported the 150-bed Gyaltsuen Jetsun Pema Wangchuck Mother and Child Hospital in two phases. The first phase was built at a cost of Rs.22 crore and has been operational since 2019. The construction of the second phase, with a cost of Rs.119 crore, began in 2019 as part of Bhutan’s 12th five-year plan and was completed recently.

The United States, the United Kingdom and Australia have entered a new agreement to build Australia’s SSN-AUKUS submarines and termed it a significant milestone in the endeavour of defence cooperation. Under the new trilateral Security partnership, Australia’s ASC and UK-based BAE Systems will build the SSN-AUKUS submarines for the Royal Australian Navy.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and European Union Agency for Law Enforcement Cooperation (EUROPOL) signed a Working Arrangement for establishing cooperative  relations between the law enforcement authorities of these two organisations.

Bina Agarwal and James Boyce was awarded the first  “Global Inequality Research Award 2024 (GiRA 2024)” for their groundbreaking work in the field of social and environmental inequalities.
